CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS - OFFICE CLOSURE DATES 2026
Chinese New Year 2026 falls on Tuesday, 17 February, ushering in the Year of the Fire Horse.
Our overseas partners across China and North Asia will be closed from approximately Friday 13 February through Sunday 22 February, with most offices reopening on Monday 23 February 2026.
Chinese New Year is the most significant annual holiday in the region. During this period, factories, transport providers, ports, and government offices temporarily suspend operations to allow employees to return home and celebrate with family.
As a result, customers should expect:
- Reduced production capacity leading into the holiday
- Congestion and tight vessel space prior to closure
- A slower ramp-up of operations immediately after reopening
We strongly recommend planning shipments well in advance of the holiday period. Any cargo that must ship prior to Chinese New Year should be locked in earlier than usual, as capacity becomes increasingly constrained approaching mid-February.
Our Australian offices will remain fully operational, and skeleton staff in China will continue to monitor emails during the holiday period.
About Chinese New Year 2026.
Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival, marks the beginning of the Chinese zodiac calendar. Celebrated across Asia and globally, it is a time for family reunions, cultural traditions, and the exchange of wishes for health and prosperity.
In Chinese culture, 2026’s Year of the Fire Horse symbolises energy, ambition, and forward momentum, making it a meaningful time for renewal and fresh beginnings.
We wish you a prosperous Year of the Fire Horse and thank you for your continued partnership.
